Anusara Immersion is intended for dedicated students who wish to go deeper into their
understanding of Anusara yoga principles and the Tantric philosophy that supports the
practice. It is a transformational opportunity to "immerse," not only into Anusara yoga, but
through this innovative and elegant method, into the presence and joy of your own being.
The complete Immersion is 108 hours in 3 parts, with a curriculum created by John Friend,
Anusara yoga’s founder. Immersion is meant to be a course all of its own, for students who
wish to go further down the path. It is also the prerequisite for Anusara yoga Teacher
Training. You will need the full course of Immersion, at least 100 hours, to attend a Teacher
Training with John Friend or another certified Anusara yoga teacher.
Anusara Immersion Part 1 - Step Into the Flow
Part 1 of the Immersion is 36 hours to introduce all of the main principles and the
philosophical vision of the system. This focused study will profoundly shift your yoga practice
and give you the tools to live consciously, fully and with celebration.

- Anusara vision and philosophy - What is the Flow?
- Universal Principles of Alignment™ - Go with the Flow
- Level 1 asana from the Anusara syllabus - Play in the Flow
- The breath - Ride the Flow
- Meditation and contemplation - Be the Flow
- Anatomy - Your instrument
Prerequisites:
- At least 30 hours or 3 months of Anusara yoga studies (in the form of classes or workshops
with a certified or affiliated Anusara yoga teacher)
- Participation in an Intro to Anusara yoga workshop

Anusara Immersion Part 2 - Ride the Waves
Part 2 of the Anusara Immersion reviews the Universal Principles of Alignment and Tantric
philosophy introduced in Part 1. A continual refinement and deepening understanding of
these fundamentals of the Anusara yoga method follows. In addition, new topics include:
- Tantric Cosmology – The Tattvas
- The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
- Subtle Body Anatomy
- Introduction of the Level II Syllabus
- The Art of Sequencing
- Intro to Anusara Yoga Therapeutics

Prerequisites:
Completion of Anusara Immersion Part 1

Anusara Immersion Part 3 - Devotion, Skill and Action
Part 3 continues to deepen the understanding of the philosophy and principles of Anusara
yoga. Additional new topics include:
- The Bhagavad Gita

Investment: $500, $250 for those who have completed Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Immersion
Anusara Yoga Teacher Training - Level 1
Level 1 Teacher Training is for graduates of 100 hours of Anusara Immersion. This course
begins the study and practice of the art of teaching Anusara Yoga, and counts towards
Anusara yoga certification.
Topics include:
- Taking the seat of the teacher
- Creating and weaving the heart theme
- Verbal and manual adjustments
- Effective languaging skills
- Therapeutic applications
- Class sequencing and planning

This special 20-hour supplemental training is meant to deepen the basic skills of teaching
Anusara yoga. Its format is perfect for those preparing to become Anusara-Inspired™ or
Anusara certified yoga teachers, or those wishing to take their Anusara yoga teaching skills
to the next level. Ross will cover in theory and with practical exercises:
Refine every aspect of your teaching through individual feedback and support from Ross:
• Learn and practice hands on adjustments
• Hone your observation skills
• Engage in contemplation and journal writing to make your alignment instructions more
effective and potent
• Learn to integrate meaningful languaging and Anusara’s Shiva-Shakti tantric philosophy
into your postural instructions
• Discover tools to become an extraordinary leader in your community

Friday 10:00am-1:00pm, 2:30pm-7:00pm
Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm, 2:30pm-7:30pm
Sunday 1:00pm-6:00pm
Prerequisites: Completion of 100 hours of Anusara Immersion is required and some
Anusara Teacher Training is recommended, though all applicants will be considered
individually.
